We thank the Lord for prospering the Church Planters /Baptist Preservation Camp Meeting. The Camp Meeting exceeded our expectations. The camp meeting began on Sunday morning and continued in the tent Sunday evening. The average attendance was near 200-230 nearly every night of the meeting under the tent. One thing that is dear to my heart is our Baptist Heritage. Here at this Camp Meeting, we preach and teach Baptist History and Baptist Doctrine. We had as promised the re-enactment , "The Whipping of Obadiah Holmes" . Everyone was silent and tears flowed from the eyes of nearly everyone that was under the tent. God gripped the heart of the audience. Time would fail me to tell of what happened at this meeting. Ask those who attended and they can explain better than I can here with the written words of my heart and mind. Let me encourage everyone to make plans now and attend this life changing meeting. You will leave as a witness that the presence of the Lord was in this place. Not only that, but you will leave knowing why you are a Baptist and will never take the name Baptist down from your church sign.

The Legend of Shiloh Hill "Shiloh hill" I know a man that gave it all to do the fathers will. He took his family far up north, with a dream of Shiloh Hill. He prayed by day and prayed by night The Holy Ghost to fill: A near obsession, with a congregation, And a tent on Shiloh Hill. A fervent desire for revival fire, To catch, and to hold, and seal; These folk of love and labor, at the foot of Shiloh Hill. These folk of certain purity that serve In Gods own will; Will doubtless come rejoicing, Ascending Shiloh’s Hill! What is this force that drives them To serve; and smile, and fill? It’s the lure at the bridegroom That awaits on Shiloh Hill. Ah! To be in his presence, in the closet, At work, and the field; And then the reward of sacrifice make, As they gather on Shiloh’s Hill. We can hardly express our thankfulness, With hugs, and words and frills; But then-the wave of the Holy Ghost That meets us on Shiloh’s Hill. We know you’re not looking for plaudits, Or what fame tries to fulfill; You just want to be a blessing on top of Shiloh Hill. Some will call it a lemonade stand; An oasis beyond the rill. A place of splendant holiness Refreshing! Shiloh Hill. We are taken back in time, Our heritage to reveal; As men of old shed life and blood To have a Shiloh Hill. We learned about Obadiah Holmes The beating-the blood he spilled! It was depicted very well, Up there on Shiloh Hill. Leland, Marshall, and Gano, made Vibrating hearts stand still; As they made a path with blood And sweat, marching toward Shiloh Hill. Weatherford and Sterns suffered greatly To the point of death and ill, Cause in their hearts was the truth of God, And their goal was a Shiloh Hill. Preserving the right, preaching the truth; And swallowing the bitter pill. These brave Baptists that stood the test, And pointed to our Shiloh Hill. "Little Jimmy" Ireland who preached to mourn or thrill; "We will answer to no one, But the God of Shiloh Hill!" Culpeppers "Palace" Jail Then Tanner held in Chesterfield; Weatherfords bloody and mangled hands, Drew men over to Shiloh’s Hill. Faggart, Collins, Wilson and Woody, And others with historical skill, Took us back to look above To the meaning of Shiloh Hill. A place to think, a place to glory Even to get a meal; Oh! The hallowed hearts of brethren and Friends, that gather on Shiloh Hill. God meets with us there; To thrill and fill and till; We preach, we sing, we lift up hands To honor Christ-on Shiloh Hill. Not to long down the road, A tabernacle will be built; The preacher has a vision of a More permanent Shiloh Hill. It I could leave you with a grateful Thought, a memory to instill, Our hearts are glad, our souls refreshed We’ve been on Shiloh’s Hill! Written by Evangelist Tom Milam 06-14-07
